Diffusion Bonding
This process produces a fully dense hard surfacing with a metallurgical bond. In this example, a nickel chromium hard-facing alloy coating is being applied. Post-coating treatment will bring the coating to its plastic state, densifying the coating while forming a metallurgical bond with the substrate. Diffusion bonded coatings are known for their impact resistance; can reach a hardness of RC62 while having excellent corrosion resistant properties.
